Farmers will be given subsidies for purchasing seedlings for planting along fields

The Agency for Quarantine and Plant Protection will offer crops for cultivation.

On December 30, Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved measures to increase agricultural production. The presidential decree was published in the Lex.uz database.

The cultivation of fruit and vegetable crops will be stimulated at the edges of fields, on the inner streets of mahallas, near multi-story buildings, and in subsidiary farms. The head of state outlined the relevant measures at a meeting at the end of November.

The organization of work on growing products on new lands is assigned to the Agency for Quarantine and Plant Protection. It is responsible for supplying farmers with seeds and seedlings, as well as exporting grown products.

The Agency will study the needs of exporters for sowing and exporting profitable crops throughout the year. By January 1, it will submit proposals on types of crops to the regional khokimiyats and the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, taking into account demand, climate, and the experience of local residents.

No later than February 1, decisions will be made on the organization of sowing and forecast indicators for growing agricultural products. The agency will select suppliers of seeds and seedlings, as well as companies for purchasing products, until February 15.

Producers who effectively use land on the edges of fields will be able to receive an internal phytosanitary certificate for 1 year free of charge. They will be provided with seeds, seedlings, fertilizers, agrochemicals and other resources.

Farmers will also be provided with subsidies of up to 50% of the costs of purchasing rootstocks of fruit seedlings for in vitro planting. The maximum amount of payments will be 25 thousand soums per rootstock.

In addition, for the organization of water supply, they will be given preferential loans with up to 50% of the costs of installing pumps and pipes credited to bank cards. The loan term will be 1 year (with a 6-month grace period) at a rate of 4% higher than the basic rate of the Central Bank.

If the participant does not grow products on the edges of fields during the year, the land tax rate for all lands will be calculated at a 3-fold rate. Tenants who sublease land may be fined up to 10 BRV (3.75 million soums).
