Uzbek apricots and cherries will appear on the Kuwaiti market
Deliveries with a total volume of 1.1 thousand tons are plannedThe Kuwaiti company Star Fruit Co. for foodstuffs, vegetables and fruits will purchase apricots and cherries from Uzbekistan, the Doone news agency reports.
An agreement on the supply of one ton of cherries and 140 kg of apricots was reached on Wednesday, May 29. The head of the company Abdurakhman Surur noted that Uzbek vegetables and fruits have a unique taste.
According to the EastFruit portal, this year the first wholesale shipments of cherries in Uzbekistan appeared in mid-May. These fruits usually start selling at the end of April.
The reason for such late sales was the cool and rainy spring in Uzbekistan, EastFruit stressed.
On May 1, Uzbekistan sent more than 298 million worth of vegetables and fruits to foreign buyers. Over the year, the growth rate was almost 17%. The bulk of the supplies came from Russia, Pakistan and Kazakhstan. These countries accounted for 63.5% of all exports of Uzbek agricultural products.
