Duty-free import regime extended for another year for 60 types of products

In order to ensure price stability in consumer markets, the validity period of the zero rate of customs duty on the import of vegetable oils, butter, eggs, bananas, citrus fruits, flour, yogurt, some types of confectionery, as well as a number of hygiene products has been extended until January 1, 2026.

On December 28, the President of Uzbekistan signed a decree "On additional measures to ensure equal conditions for entrepreneurs and a fair competitive environment."

According to the decree, the benefit introduced by presidential decrees No. UP-145 of May 31, 2022 and No. UP-41 of March 23, 2023, has been extended until January 1, 2026 for goods subject to the zero rate of customs duty.

This measure is aimed at ensuring price stability in consumer markets.

The list of goods that can be imported duty-free for at least another year includes fish, butter, margarine, cream, condensed milk, eggs, bananas, coffee, tea, flour, yogurt, cheese, cottage cheese, confectionery, jam, soft drinks, hair care products, some hygiene products and others.

Duty-free import of fresh or dried dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes, coconuts, apples, pears, quince and other fruits will also continue.

Under another resolution, the zero customs duty rate on the import of vegetable oils was also extended until January 1, 2026. However, the validity period of the benefit on the import of poultry meat was not extended.
