π₯ The Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with the Center for Analysis of International Relations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, held an international conference in Tashkent on the topic "Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan: New Prospects for Mutually Beneficial Cooperation". The event was attended by representatives of research institutes and analytical centers of the two countries dealing with international relations and economics.πΊπΏπ¦πΏ In his speech at the conference, the Director of the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (IMRI), Doctor of Economics Umid Abidkhadjaev, focused on important areas of economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
Among the topics presented for discussion, an important place was occupied by issues of cooperation in the field of agriculture.
Azerbaijan has great potential in the field of cotton processing. The country annually produces 270 thousand tons of raw cotton. In turn, Uzbekistan also has significant experience in this area. In this regard, the creation of joint cotton-textile clusters will contribute to the development of cotton growing in Azerbaijan and the expansion of the raw material base for processing enterprises in Uzbekistan. At the same time, it is impossible to imagine the development of agriculture without the implementation of land reforms. Studying the successful experience of Azerbaijan in this area will contribute to the formation of a land market and the improvement of the regulation of land relations.
