Corridors for accelerated export of vegetables and fruits will be opened in Uzbekistan

They are designed for transport carrying perishable goods.

Special corridors for accelerated export of vegetables and fruits will be opened at large customs posts of Uzbekistan, the press service of the Customs Committee reports.

At large border customs posts with heavy traffic of goods and vehicles, the Customs Committee will prioritize the establishment of separate corridors equipped with special signs for the accelerated export of fruits and vegetables, the message says.

The ministry noted that the corridors are designed for transport, primarily transporting cabbage, onions, cherries and apricots.

Carriers of agricultural products were recommended to install a special "Perishable cargo" sign on vehicles.

Recall that in January-April 2024, Uzbekistan exported 514.8 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables worth $298.5 million abroad. Compared to the same period in 2023, the export figure increased by 43.3%, in monetary terms — by 16.5%.
