Farmers are compensated for the cost of electricity consumed
By Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No.PP-5 dated January 5, 2024, appropriate amendments and additions were made to Resolution No. 320 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 3, 2018. In accordance with these changes, a new service “Reimbursement of the cost of electricity consumed by pumping plants and irrigation wells of producers of cotton raw materials and cereals” has been introduced in the Agrosubsidia information system.
The subsidies will be allocated on the following conditions:
– when irrigating cotton raw materials and grain crops using existing drip, rain or discrete irrigation systems, the amount of electricity consumed is 100% of the cost of electricity;
- when irrigating cotton and grain fields without using water-saving irrigation technology, the amount of electricity consumed is distributed in the amount of 50% of its cost.
Applications for subsidies are first considered by the District Working Group, and then by the Ministry of Agriculture (in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Water Management), and the subsidy funds are allocated based on the relevant conclusion.
