Russia is interested in further increasing imports of fruit and vegetable products from Uzbekistan, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev said at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister for Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
He noted that the countries are strategic partners in the field of agriculture. In 2024, agricultural and food trade increased by 20%. This year, the positive dynamics continue.
"Russia is interested in further increasing imports of fruit and vegetable products from Uzbekistan; all necessary conditions have been created for their unimpeded import," the Russian Deputy Prime Minister said.
He also added that the Uzbek market is very promising for Russian exporters, expressing readiness to increase supplies of sunflower oil, confectionery, grain and livestock products.
The main export items from Russia to Uzbekistan in 2024 were sugar, sunflower oil, confectionery, cake and meal, baby food.
