Uzbekistan and Belarus plan new projects in agricultural sector – details

The Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Ibrohim Abdurakhmanov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Uzbekistan Alexander Ogorodnikov.

TASHKENT, March 13 — Sputnik. A package of joint projects in priority areas of the agricultural sector will be developed between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

According to the department, the Minister of Agriculture Ibrohim Abdurakhmanov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Uzbekistan Alexander Ogorodnikov.

During the talks, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector and the implementation of new promising projects.

"Special attention was paid to the experience of Belarus in the field of processing agricultural products. Ambassador Alexander Ogorodnikov noted that the quality and unique taste of Uzbek fruits and vegetables are of great interest to Belarusian companies," the department noted.

Minister Ibrohim Abdurakhmanov, in turn, emphasized the importance of the project of the Servolux Group company for the production and processing of poultry meat in the Tashkent region, noting that such initiatives bring mutual benefits to both countries.

In addition, the parties exchanged views on expanding cooperation in the production of baby food, dairy products, growing blueberries, developing potato farming and mechanization of the agricultural sector.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the development of a package of joint projects in priority areas.
