Uzbekistan will simplify the allocation of land for large agricultural projects
Uzbekistan will simplify the procedures for allocating land plots for large investment projects in agriculture,shouldfrom the presidential decree.
According to the document, entities leasing land plots for cotton and grain growing, upon voluntary renunciation of the right to lease 50% of the total area, retain the rightfor the remaining part of the site with the registration of new conditions - rights, obligations and lease for a period of 49 years.
The following requirements are established:
• no debt on loans received from commercial banks for growing crops, as well as on taxes;
• the right to lease land plots should not be pledged as collateral to commercial banks.
Agricultural land plots for the implementation of large investment projects worth at least $10 million (determined by selecting the best offer) will be leased directly to local investors for a period of 49 years, and to the Directorate for servicing leased agricultural land - for 25 years in the manner established by the Cabinet of Ministers (in Karakalpakstan - until December 31, 2027, also by the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan).
From 2027, the traditional (broadcast) method of sowing in rice cultivation will be completely abolished - only seedling planting will be introduced on laser-leveled fields, as well as using modern grain seeders.
