In the Kuvin district, construction of the Uzbek-Russian agrologistics center worth $50 million has begun, the press service of the Fergana regional hokimiyat reported.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place on December 3 during the visit of Omsk Region Governor Vitaly Khotsenko to Uzbekistan. He launched the project via video conference together with the Hokim of Fergana Region, Khairullo Bazarov.
The complex is being built by the joint venture Energy-Land on a 15-hectare site. It will include a fruit and vegetable processing plant with a capacity of 20,000 tons per year, cold storage for 30,000 tons of products, as well as a hotel and auxiliary infrastructure.

Annual agricultural export volume will reach $100 million. Up to 500 people will work permanently at the complex.
Khotsenko noted at the launch ceremony the growing demand in Russia for Uzbek fruits, vegetables, and textiles. According to him, the opening of the agrologistics center will allow rapid fulfillment of the Russian market's needs.
According to Bazarov, the future complex will become a major logistics hub for the entire Fergana Valley. It will provide direct supplies of fruits and vegetables grown by local farmers to the markets of Russia and other countries.

During negotiations between regional leaders, the development of interregional ties between Fergana Region and Russian partners was noted. The parties cooperate in textiles and furniture, energy, petrochemicals, urban development, and services.
Currently, more than 165 joint ventures with Russian investors operate in the region. Fergana and Omsk have established "mutually beneficial interaction" and are working on a number of joint initiatives.
In April, an wholesale distribution center for fruits and vegetables from Fergana Region worth over $8 million opened in Omsk Region. Khairullo Bazarov announced plans to build the second and third phases of the complex in the near future.
