EBRD will allocate $ 250 million to Uzbekistan for the modernization of the irrigation system

The project will cover 10 regions of the country.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will provide Uzbekistan with a sovereign loan of up to $ 250 million for the modernization of 110 irrigation pumping stations across the country. This was reported by the press service of MIPT.

It is noted that the project will cover 10 regions and contribute to the implementation of the national program to modernize the irrigation system.

As a result, a reduction in the annual electricity consumption by 251 thousand MWh and a decrease in carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere by more than 117 thousand tons is expected.

Also, related infrastructure will be updated as part of the project, including the installation of solar panels on the roofs of pumping stations.
