Part of the forest and pasture lands of Uzbekistan will be allocated for the production of food products
The President pointed out ineffective use of 28 million hectares of pastures and forests.
In Uzbekistan, part of forest and pasture lands will be allocated for growing food. This was reported in the press service of the president.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev criticized the insufficient use of 16 million hectares of pastures and 12 million hectares of forest lands, which are the most important reserve for increasing the country`s food potential.
It is clarified that in 16 districts, Agrostar companies have already been created, which allocated 300 billion soums to introduce modern agricultural technologies in the cultivation, storage and processing of fruits and vegetables, as well as increasing export. In addition, banks began to provide them with resources of $ 10 million.
However, according to the president, in 5 of these areas the volume of exports of fruits and vegetables did not grow, and even decreased compared to last year. Mirziyoyev wondered: if all resources are provided when Agrostar begins to bring the result?
The heads of the districts are instructed to increase the production and export of food. At the same time, it emphasizes that a significant part of the territory of the districts is forest and pasture lands under the jurisdiction of republican organizations, so the hokims cannot use them under agricultural exposure without a separate permission.
“In the presence of such resources, we could completely cover the internal need for meat and reach export!” - noted the president.
The Prime Minister was instructed to take control of this issue, within a month to calculate how many forest and pasture lands can be transferred to the population for growing food and feed products, as well as putting these areas for auctions. The task is also set to ensure farmers and livestock breeders receiving these lands with working capital.
