The delegation of Uzbekistan is studying the advanced experience of livestock in Italy

As part of the project of the UN Development Program “Support for Inclusive Transition of Agriculture and Food Sectors to the Green Economy” (EU-AGRIN/UAKIS), a delegation of Uzbekistan, including representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Technical Regulation and Scientific Research Institutions of the Academy of Sciences, carried out an educational trip to Italy.

The main purpose of the visit was to familiarize themselves with agricultural approaches as part of the Strategies of the European Union "Green Course" and "From Farm to the Table".

During the visit, the delegation visited the company “Mozazarella di Bufala Campana Pdo” in the province of Salerno, which has been leading its history since the 1700s. The company specializes in breeding buffaloes, growing feed and the production of high -quality Mozarella cheese. Complete digitalization has been introduced in the livestock process: each animal is equipped with a chip, with which the indicators of milking, feed consumption and health status are monitored online.

The farm contains 580 heads of buffaloes, of which 220 participate in daily milking. Every day, 1200 kg of milk is processed, from which 300 kg of Mozarella and other types of cheese are produced. Particular attention is paid to quality control: daily tests are carried out in a specialized laboratory, and sanitary inspections by healthcare authorities are held twice a month.

Делегация подробно изучила ресурсосберегающие подходы компании, в том числе использование водосберегающих технологий при выращивании кормов, а также организацию полной цепочки добавленной стоимости — от производства до переработки. Of particular interest was the experience of creating a local brand, opening small processing workshops and constant quality control through the laboratories.

According to the results of the visit, the possibilities of applying these advanced approaches to modernize the livestock sector of Uzbekistan were discussed. In particular, specific proposals for the digitalization of farms, the introduction of innovation in the feed production and the creation of a value chain in farms in farms are being developed. This, in turn, should increase the competitiveness of local livestock and ensure its sustainable development.
