Uzbekistan and Hungary: A New Chapter of Reliable Cooperation in Potato Cultivation

As part of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Hungary, Minister of Agriculture Ibrokhim Abdurakhmanov is currently visiting the city of Budapest.

During the visit, a series of meetings aimed at strengthening cooperation are taking place. In particular, at a meeting between the minister and Professor Zsolt Polgár of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences — a recognized international expert in his field — new promising projects for the development of potato cultivation in Uzbekistan were discussed.

The conversation included a detailed review of the prospects for the development of a Potato Cultivation Center in Uzbekistan, as well as opportunities arising from the synthesis of science and practice.

In addition, bilateral negotiations were held with the head of Hungarian Potato Innovation LTD.

During the talks, concrete proposals were put forward to bring the potato industry in our country to a qualitatively new level.

Specifically, initiatives were discussed to establish joint activities for growing elite potato varieties, modernizing the breeding and seed production system based on international standards, and creating a "Potato Cultivation Corporation" in Uzbekistan.

It was especially noted that Hungary's rich experience and innovative approaches in this field are of great importance for Uzbekistan.

Deepening cooperation, attracting advanced technologies and expertise were identified as priority tasks for enhancing the potential of potato cultivation in our country.
